Any dog training proffessionals in ottawa region that come to your home to help train/behavoir of your dog?
I have two minature schauzers and they need help I mean help they aren't bad dogs just they Jump alot and i mean alot. And one is always nervous and bites sometimes. We heard things about Bark Busters that was good so we were thinking about them but we'd love to have Cesar Millan here but thats impossible but does anyone know any names of places or people who come to your home and help you with your dogs. The price is nt a major thing we just need help. SO please any names of proffesinals that come to your home or companies.thank you in advance big points for the best answer
What is the best way to prepare myself for 4H dog training?
I have asked this question before but did not get very many answers should I be doing research or practicing basic commands?And I have tried to teach her Sadie 5yrs Siberian Husky to come and listen but the only practicing grounds I have is the backyard.....and she doesn't seem interested in being around me and paying attention to commands when I'm out there... some of you also told me to practice the " look me " command but i can't seem to keep her attention for very long but will keep working on it if there are any other things that anybody thinks I should be doing please let me know Thanks so much for the advice, i promise I intend to put it to use

Which is a better dog training method?
I am looking into purchasing a training dvd set, and I can't decide which is better. Don Sullivans perfect dog, or Cesar Millan. Has anyone used either of these? If so what was the outcome? I watched a infomercial of Don Sullivans, and it looks so harsh and abusive to me. Please help any info much appreciative. Thanks
Question about dog training please help which obedience class do i take her to basic or intermediate?
My dog she knows how to sit and crawl and rollover but i can't get her to stay or lay i want to take her to training but should i do the basic class or the intermediate and why?

We found out about bark busters and called and it will cost around 700 dollars for the two of them and its a lifetime waranty so if the problems reappear they come back no charge. I live in ottawa and i would like to know if it really works> ? ive heard stories and all of them say yes it ll change your life. I would love to have cesar here but he only does the states i believe. so your opinion is greatly appreaciated

I'll be meeting up with a trainer from there on Friday for helping with Sasha's fear aggression and Obedience with Chopper. I know they specialize in using e collars, but I'm open to that. Should i get a dog training crate?
in a couple of weeks my puppy Staffordshire bull terrier will be 9 weeks old and ready to come home. Im not sure weather to get a training crate or not. i have found one that is a reasonable price and a proper make, but im not to sure on what they could help me with. i have been told they can help in all sorts of training, but i don't know. can some body tell me some of the pro's and the con's of them then an overall judgment. tyvm.
How much do dog training lessons cost?
Hello, I have a GSD x Border collie who likes being talt, she knows sit, lie down, paw, both paws, roll over, kiss, fetch, her name, and come, Ive had her for two weeks, and was wondering if I need to take her when she's had her jabs, and how much does it cost I live in England Surrey I'm going to be walking her twice a day when she's had her second jab, please no rude answers, also shall I wait one or two weeks after her jabs to walk her.

Okay im 16 years old and i would like to start a dog training class in my area, the area is relitivly small 500 people but there are lots of dogs. Ive trained my 7 month old ACD everything from the basics, to getting me a drink can from the fridge. I can bring him any where off leash, there can be a cat running around other dogs, running kids etc. and he always maintains eye contact. Ive worked with dogs aggressive, shy, fear aggressive, hyper active, etc at the local spca. Id like to one day be a pro dog trainer. Ive got a keen interest in dogs. I dont agree with the " do something get a treat" training. I want the dog to repond to the OWNER. Not the food or me. I would have the owners work with there dogs, and use my dog as a demo dog, to show them how a certain thing is done. If they need help, i would help them. I would have a class of maybe 6 dogs. No female in heat. Only one intact male allowed. Training tools prongs, chokers etc are alowed, under supervision and only if the dog needs it. What do you think? anything i should add? thank you for your opinions.I had an apprentiship with a local dog trainer, but ended up quiting because everything i did with my dog wasnt correct giving him a correction for inapproprate behavior she only used treats. She ended up undoing alot of the training with my dog becuase he learnt " hey, i only need to do something when she has a treat in her hand" so he ended up needing to be retrained.Im willing to work on everything from basics, to dog dog aggression. Ive worked on this at the spca, and i have my dog ina down stay and i show the other dog to be neutral, eventualy working up to introductions.Im not scraping Positive renforcement. But its not the best thing to be teaching a dog distraction training.
