Dog Boarding

Question: Is this a good price for dog boarding?

We have never boarded our dogs before so we have no idea on what pricing is good here's the info:(copy and pasted) Rates* •Dog: $27 per day •Dog Day- care: $15 per day •Cat/ Rabbit/ Ferret: $15 per day •Other Small Pets: Rates upon request Additional Services •Leash walks (20 min. outdoors) $10 per walk •Microchipping $40 per pet while boarding or $50 per pet by appointment •Nail trimming $12 per pet •Brushing $12 for dog and $10 for cat Multi- pet discount When you board more than one pet at a time you will receive 10 % off the boarding rates. Special monthly rates are also available - please call for details. is this a good price? thanks :) we usually have a friend watch them but this is just in case we really have to go somewhere and they can't come and no one can watch them

Well, the rates are okay as I can see. But if you are not satisfied you can check other centers who accepts boarding dogs. You can check this site for more options.

I think before you put your dog in kennel you should ask a family member or close friend to watch your dogs while you are gone. To me its cruel to do that to your pet. But i guess if you cant find anyone that does seem like a reasonable price.

Prices don't sound bad. Boarding places I have used include either the walk in the price or time at the doggy day care. Either one or the other are very important for your dog. If your dog is well socialized, add the day care option. I left my dog at the daycare/ boarding and he had so much fun he wasn't sure he wanted to come home.

The prices sound reasonable, but if you never thought of it, you may want to look into a dog sitter. We have a great person who is bonded and insured and loves dogs. When we travel, she comes to our house twice a day and stays at least an hour each time. She plays with the pups, makes sure that they eat and have fresh water, walks them (once or twice a day), gives meds (if requested), and leaves us a journal of how they did in our absence. She will call us from the house occasionally just to let us know all is well. She also is well-versed in first aid. She does all of this for $40.00/ day! That's for all 3 pups, not per pup. And we live in Orange County, CA, so it's not a low cost of living area. Yes, we had to interview several sitters to find the one that we felt good about (the interviews included watching her interact with the pups), but it was well worth it. The boyz are so much less stressed by being in their own home than they would be off "their turf ". If you look into a sitter, I hope that you get as fortunate as we did. Good luck!
