Question: What kind of salary do professional dog trainers get ?

I'm thinking of taking the classes to become a professional dog trainer. This is something that comes natural to me and I love dogs. How much can i expect to make for a beginning wage ???

I would say to ask 200.00 to meet twice weekly for 6 weeks. That is about average. When you have more experience and have finished your own dogs (earned title) you may ask more.

Depends upon where you live and how good you are. You can ask your instructors since you are taking a class. In training you become successful from training many dogs that have many problems for many different thing. Classes will help they will not take the place of experience. You can get your experience from many sources. Training shelter dogs is a good source plus it is a way to get known as the dog trainer person in your area. Teaching classes is also a good source as long as you know what you are doing. Most trainers do not work full-time but train on the side in conjunction with another job.

As a beginning wage? Nothing as you will have to work for another trainer for free to gain experience and have them teach you.
