Can you tell me some positive experiences you have had with electronic dog training collars?
I know many people don't like the idea of using electronic shock training collars. But I also know most people don't know how to train their dogs properly which results in dogs biting people, running away and getting hit by cars. Tell me some positive stories.
Electric pulse dog training collars any one used them?
i have a 3 year old dog up till now has been brilliant at commands, and still is except for one thing, when he spots another dog he takes off,a100 yards 1 2mile he is gone, good thing is he is not aggresive,a quick sniff and he is on his way back, ive went back to basics, treat praise no effect, a week with a dog trainer no effect,he has not been snipped,i dont want that just in case he gets lucky,he is cross collie and something long haired and fast,i dont want to have him on the lead all the time as the type of dog he is he needs plenty of exercise, and other dog walkers have the right to walk there dogs in peace,so anything on these collars would be helpfull3years without a problem i suppose you could say the dog has not been trained propely every ones entitled to there opinion the opinion i want to hear,is from someone who has used one of the collarshe gets at least 3hours a day exercise and when i spot a dog first he gets put on the lead, and it is in woods,he is never off the lead on road walks, lillylady, what gives me the right i pay me taxes ive never been a benefit scrounger and ive fought for this country i believe that entitles me to walk my dog in a safe place of the lead,so you speak to dogs do youive pulled the dogs paper work out and the breed name is patagoian sheepdog, not muttwidow pu dont worry about other dogs being aggressive the two staffies look after him,i carnt consider castration they dont even do that to peadaphiles.
Are dog training collars such as the Innotek Basic Trainer humane?
What about dog training collars?
When i was at a lake one day, I saw this guy who had a small shock giving collar on his dog. It was to keep the dog from wandering too far without a leash. Now i do a lot during the summer, like swimming at lakes and going on walks a lot. It would be really nice to not always worry about my dog running off. She is a small lab mix, about 40 lbs. She listens well, but when she sees something, she doesn't stop. I'm kind of nervous about " shocking" her. Has any one had this, or can any one reccomend what type of shocking collar I should get? She is female dog aggressive, too, so I would want her to stray no more than 50 feet.she isn't human aggressive what so ever. only female dog aggressive. and the shock collar i saw was water proof.
How do you properly measure a black lab for a martingale dog training collar?

Has anyone had success with a vibration/shock dog training collar?
I have a 2 yr old very hyper female rottie that has some bad behavior with fixating on chasing cars up the driveway on the other side of the fence, and now going crazy at my sisters horses on the other side of the fence. She won't respond to anyone when either distraction is there and you can't get near her she takes off and then returns to the crazy barking. I would like to try a vibration shock collar that is remote controlled to break her fixation and get her to listen since nothing else has worked. Has anyone else used this in training a hard to train dog? Are they safe when used responsibly? I do not want to hurt her but her behavior is going to get her injured if she gets out and get's in that horse pen the horses will kick her. And she is only getting worse in her fixation on vehicles and larger animals not better as she gets used to them being there. Any suggestions would be great. She also has a acre of yard so she has lots of room to run just is so hyperactive though.
Has anyone ever used this dog training collar for their dog? how thick is a Boxers neck(the skin)?
its called the SPORTDOG SD 105S YARD TRAINER its for stubborn dogs. i have read a little bit about it and they say its for dogs over 15 lbs. so i guess it will work on a boxer. also does anyone know if a boxers neck the skin is really thick like an Akita's. the only reason that im looking into this collar is because my dog is very stubborn and doesn't listen to any of my commands i even hired a profesional trainer to work with me and him and the dog wouldn't even do what the trainer asked. so im at my wits end with this and im wanting to get this collar and try that.i have tried everything else obedience classes and other trainers. and he knows that im the leader but he doesn't mind me when i give him commands.my aunt has an Akita and she is a certified Akita handler, and she told me that they have very thick skin, and she suggested to me to find out if a Boxer has thick skin on their neck.

Dog training collars?
i have a jack russel who is good apart from the fact that he constantly jumps up me and bites my hand and wants to play all the time it is beginning to really annoy me. If i sit on the sofa to watch tv he scratches at me. I have scratch and teeth marks and bruises all over me. He does not do it in an agressive way he just wants attention een though he gets it most of the time when its play time. He has plenty of long walks, ive used correction spray water spray, folding my arms turning away, ignoring him treat training, being firm showing himm im the boss, moving into his space when he bothers me on sofa, even a dog trainer at 60 pound an hour who was amazing but still my dog wont leave me alone. He is fine with my partner and will rest on his knee for ages and he does help when the dog is getting too excited. He is a Jack Russel soo i know they are hard work and we knew this when we got them but the dog is sriously bullying me. Please dont judge me on this as my vet recomended it and i think its cruel but i wanted to know what you all though about the remote shock collar thing that send a tiny pulse. Does it work and if so is it cruel. Like i said please dont judge me i am just curious and dont intend of getting onemany thanks

Can I use a dog training collar on my cat?
I have 3 cats who are fond of scratching. One of them is also a chronic vomitter. By the way they're all female and spayed 2 are mother and daughter. I'm in the market for new furniture and don't want it to get destroyed by my feline housemates. I intend to buy more scratching posts, but am especially interested in an indoor invisible fence. The products I've seen are advertised for dogs but are they safe for cats as well? Don't even tell me about the sprays because those don't work unless I use it on the cats directly not the recommended use . I've also gotten into the habit of cutting their claws weekly, so I'm testing that strategy. Declawing is an absolute last resort.I ll amend my original question for those ready to call the ASPCA. I have 3 cats who like to scratch as cats do . I ve owned cats all my life, so I m not new to their behavioral issues. I'm in the market for new furniture and don't want it destroyed. I intend to buy more scratching posts, but am interested in an indoor invisible fence. The products I've seen are advertised for dogs but are they safe for cats? Yes, I know about water bottles and shouting the word no . Yes, I ve used the SoftClaws, aluminum foil, and sticky tape. Don't even tell me about repellant sprays b c those don't work unless I use it on the cats directly joking . I've also gotten into the habit of cutting their claws weekly, so I'm testing that strategy yes, I know not to cut the veins . Declawing is an extreme and absolute last resort, regardless what anyone says. Looking for something that I haven t already tried and will help us all live in peace. Thx for the sensible answers I ve already recv d
