How do I start a career as a dog trainer and where do I begin learning dog training from?
I want to build my career as a dog trainer but i'm totally inexperienced with training dogs. I need a stepping stone but where do I begin? If I don't intend to study abroad, where can I learn dog training in Singapore? Any workshops or courses to recommend? Usually how do beginners get people to trust them to train their dogs? And if I don't want to be a freelance dog trainer, are there any company I can work for? And also, all the above mentioned questions have to be resolved within Singapore. I am a Singaporean and I do not wish to go overseas because I have no money to go abroad.This is my second enquiry on being a dog trainer.Any wise advice would be greatly appreciated Thanks

Serious dog training help! Pulling on Leash?
I have a male beagle lab mix who is 1 year old, and I have recently took him to the vet On Friday to be exact ...and it didn't go so well.He gets very excited when he sees other dogs. He started pulling really hard on the leash and barking and yelping when he couldn't get near them. People actually thought that my dog was aggressive because of the pulling. My dog isn't aggressive, but he does have problems with self control on the leash. I know that it's all my fault because I haven't been consistent with the leash training, and I'm the one to blame . I just get so frustrated because he pulls so hard that hes actually choking himself. I've recently bought the gentle leader, but I want to train him self control and leash manners, but I just don't know what to do? It was very embarrassing going to the vet because all the other dogs there were very calm. He doesn't bite, jump, or have any other problem...it's just the pulling I would like to be able to walk my dog without him turning my hand purple from all the pulling.By the way, I was wondering if you guys can give me any ideas on some games that can help my dog let out all his energy. I walk him for an hour , but it doesn't seem to be enough. Any ideas?Thank you I can't take him swimming.....hes afraid of the water.
Should i bring my 4 month beagle to petco for private dog training?

Question about dog training?
my mom has trained dogs for years, she has won loads of dog competitions. She entered our 3 year old basset hound in a competition just last year and won. Were getting a puppy in a week and my mom says she wants me to have a go at training it up so it can be a show dog like our other dog. She says i will have to start training him from the age of around 3 4 months. Im only fourteen and have no idea where to start with the little guy. My mom said she will give me tips but she cant help me train him because the dog will then have more respect for her and not me. I like the idea of becoming a world champion in dog training, it seems pretty cool.where do i start? shall i research on the internet?thanks for any answers in advance

Tips on dog training?
my dog will do dozens of tricks on command, she never jumps, she never bites, and she usually listens, but if there's a coyote outside or another dog or person and she isn't on a leash she will not come when called, she just keeps going. ive seen people like victoria stilwell and cesar millan get dogs to return in mid charge, how can i get my dog to that point? she's a 5 year old golden retriever lab mix and it's not like she doesn't respect me, she just sees offleash as meaning free time, she knows heel but it doesn't matter what i say, once she decides to go after something it's done. she'd been hurt by other dogs before after running to greet them and i'm genuinly concerned that the next time she gets out im going to be taking her to the vet with serious wounds

Seeing eye-dog training?
I believe seeing eye dogs are amazing. But I've never seen the training they go through. A friend of mine says that she watches a dog handler somtimes train a seeing eye dog outside her apartment. She proceeded to tell me that it was heartbreaking because whenever the dog made a very made move cross the street on a red light, or walk their owner into a poll the handler would " beat the sh out of the dog." Now I know there are some extreme dog training but, is this right or should she call someone to take care of this person? Just concerned
