Question: Is this going to be enough exercise for my dogs? also how to train a dog to use an indoor dog potty?

Add: They were originally crate trained. Now they only stay in their crates when we leave the apartment. I have baby gates to gate off areas as well. They are completely potty trained for outside but not for this new potty I have a 2 year old Minature Poodle and a 1 year old Jack Russell Terrier mix I'm pregnant and on bed rest so my husband has had to take over everything. The doc feels the bedrest is only temporary, I'm in my second trimester and we just have to make sure everything is okay before she clears me to go on with regular activity. They dogs had been getting 3 walks a day. I did the two morning walks before it gets hot. EArly morning and then mid morning. And hubby would do the evening walk. Well they are going to be going down to two walks. And the morning walk is being cut shorter because hubby has to leave so early for work. They are going to get about a 25 minute jog in the morning and in the evening they are going to get their usual hour long walk. Normally their morning walk is 45 minutes but he is going to be jogging with them. They've never been too into their mid morning walk, we would go most days but that is mostly a spring/ fall thing. Winter we only do two anyways. Also we live in a second story apartment and the doc told me no going up and down those stairs to let my dogs out. My hubby can't come home to let them out during the day, he doesn't have that freedom and he commutes into the city. And the few people I know around here work all day in the city. My grandfather is making them something similar to this: http:/ / www.petapotty.com/ ORIGINAL_PETAPO… And we are going to train them to the patio during the day but my hubby will let them outside outside when he is home. HOW Do YOu Suggest WE go about teaching this? Crate training 101? Thanks for any tips you can give. By the way our dogs are a Hyper Minature Poodle and a very lazy (I would rather watch tv than do anything) Jack Russell Terrier mix. ________________________________________ ADD: I don't feel kids are responsible enough to walk the dogs. We can't afford a dog walker or doggie daycare now, we are on 1 income right now. Coming off of some hard times. Hubby get home at 4 pm same time the school kids get off the bus anyways

There are a lot of conflicting theories about potty training a dog and it can be confusing to know which will work and which are useless. Everyone you talk to seems to have different advice to give you. When you have a new dog, whether it's a puppy or an adult dog that is experiencing problems with potty training, you want to solve the problem as fast as possible, right? The faster you can get your dog potty trained, the faster you will be able to completely enjoy the experience of sharing your life with a dog.

Since ur dogs are small that should be enough exercise and as for potty training,u should read or watch books and episodes from the dog whisperer (cesar millan)
