6 week old puppy training?
I have a 6 week old rottweiler puppy I know, too young to be taken home but I have already started potty training him and he has been weened. When can I start training him to sit, lay down, stay?
I have a puppy training problem?
We've had my puppy Luna for about a week, and 2 days ago she had her first puppy class. There was a grown chihuahua there i don't know why since it's a puppy class , but it barked none stop and then Luna started barking she's never barked before unless she had to go out Now WHENEVER she wants something she barks. She can't get up on the couch and she barks if she sees people up there, even though we pet her while she is at our feet. I say " ah ah" when she barks but that makes her bark more. I just realized that she could be thinking of " ah ah" as me barking, so how do I get her to stop? I don't think I can teach her the " quiet" command at the moment because her puppy class already has her learning a ton of stuff and if I teach her anymore this week, I think she'll get really confused. She also mouths on our hands a LOT. I have tried giving her a toy in exchange for my hands but she just grabs onto it, drops it, and goes for my hands again. I have tried saying " ow" loudly and ignoring her for 30 seconds, but that doesnt work, ive tried pushing my hand further into her mouth, ive tried putting butter on my hands, and bitter spray and she still bites. She also mouths on the floor and tears up carpets. I've tried bitter spray, but she is immune to it I really don't know what to do I've done everything the dog book has said and none of it works. I also need some help with leash training. All of the things I've read about it have to do with if your puppy pulls ahead too much, but she doesn't pull ahead, she pulles EVERYWHERE She'll lunge at the road, dig her heels in and sit down, and then other times she will walk perfectly by my side Any suggestions would be great I said she's been barking since the class, she's been doing all the other stuff since we got her which was like 1 2 weeks ago
A question about puppy training..?
I have a 6 month old coton de tulear. He's potty trained and doesn't bite anymore, but I can't stop him from barking. He always barks when the front door opens, when I leave for school or work, and sometimes when my family is eating. It's really, really frustrating. How can I get him to stop?
Easing into puppy training?
Recently, my friend decided he wanted to give away his 7 month Golden Retriever, so I decided to take her. She spent a lot of time in her crate, and was never really allowed to be a puppy, which is something I totally disagree with. For being a pup, she is extremely mellow, doesn't really know how to play, and flinches very easily. Are there any suggestions ways to show her it's okay to be a puppy and play?

we just got a puppy about a week ago, she is 2 months old. we're mainly concerned about potty training. ive been taking her outside to go. she usually does, and i give her a treat when she does. she hasnt peed inside since the first day..... until today.. this morning she has peed multiple times on the floor how can i get her to stop? am i doing something wrong? what do u suggest i do to train her? please help i need some tips

i found missy my new black lab wondering the streets and brought her home with me, she's a very loving puppy and knows how to sit and i can walk her around with out a leash but now she's starting to stray a little not soo good so i need some help with some training all in general, she will be an outside dog and is already staying and sleeping outside, and tips. tricks. any thing that has helped you with training your new little puppy. thank you D
Help on Rottweiler puppy training, How to teach to growl and show teeth on command?
I have a 7 week old male Rottweiler, he is and will always be a family dog and a best friend first, then a protector of myself and my property, he will always have access indoors and air conditioning, furthermore i am a very responsible loving owner and i have been and will be spending many many hours in training with him. I also understand the risk involved in training to growl on command, this is solely for a bad situation to intimidate a threat. He will never be taught to attack or fight. EVER. I am a very responsible owner and i would never alow this. Also this task will never be abused at any time, its a serious trick. Anyways, i do know he is young, but he is very intelligent and he already knows, sit, stay, lay down, speak, and on the snap of my fingers he makes eye contact with me for how ever long i ask for even with distractions. I do not know how to begin training to get him to show teeth and growl and some tips would be appreciated. Don't waist my time telling me how this is dangerous because i am educated on the subject and i know for a fact a dog of this intelligence will do as trained. I train in a 100 % zero physical contact and 100 % positive loving reinforcement environment, he has never been hit, slapped or even lightly patted as punishment. He understands " no" and immediately sits down and makes eye contact with me when i say it. No exaggeration he is that smart and obedient for his age. For a trick such as this should i let him mature more? Regardless, where do i begin in teaching this trick. Don't wait my time with opinions on why i shouldn't do this or why i am a irresponsible owner. I will look past your message. Thanks.I am educated because i have trained several Rottweilers but never this type of command. I have done all my training via online shitzhund videos and other types of sources. The reason for me teaching him this is because with my last rottie who was 14 years old i was robbed while walking him and the dog was scared and submissive. I think if he were to have growled the situation may have ended differently. I am posting this because i dont have all the answers and i want some more educated people to answer it positively. Not like some of you have answered.Also he is and will be very socialized with kids, other dogs big and small and adults. I take him to my office every day and he is played with by all the kids who come in. after sanitizing of course
Need some advice about puppy training?
i got my puppy from an accidental litter she is crossed with a German Shepard and bullmastive , i got her when she was 13 wks old and she is nearly 6 months old now. when i 1st got her she was going toilet out in the garden when she got used to it i even gave her treats and praised her for it and made a fuss. but now she is trying to dominate me when i take her out in the garden she mucks about running around and wont go toilet she will have a wee then i tell her go poo so she tries to squeeze another wee out, and every thing to her is a game, she refuses to come in from the garden if she does nothing out there she gets no treats, so she decides to do it in her room which im getting very frustrated with it and all the cleaning every 5 mins. i do smack her on the tip of her nose for being naughty.when she is being good i allow her to come in the front room on her blanket and she is as good as gold but then she will try playing me buy wanting to go out but when she does she does nothing. she has had her 1st jab and still got a couple of wks for the 2nd then i have to wait another week b4 i can take her out for walks the vet says im doing everything right. but she is trying to be the boss i have even got books out of the library about how to train them. i got her cause i wanted a friend as well as a companion she does stress me out a lot but i don't no what im doing wrong as far as i have been told im doing everything right... any suggestions would be grateful thanks in advance f 25
How much money (on average) do basic puppy training classes cost?
I'm talking about sit, stay, come, etc. and socialization. I don't want to get ripped off. I've found some cheap ones and then some that were much more expensive. What do most people pay for puppy training?I'm not concerned about the cost. I'm concerned about getting ripped off. I would be willing to pay a lot of money if the classes actually worked and taught us all something.
Puppy training tips needed!?
So... this is my first puppy... I've adopted dogs in the past and trained them just fine, but I have no idea where to start with this puppy... she doesn't respond the same as the dogs have, she doesn't like treats, she doesn't understand when i tell her good girl, or bad girl, i just need some puppy training tips from anyone who has done this before, i'm open to anything and everything positive, i've tried correcting her and punishing her before, and she does not respond well to punishment, she thinks i'm always mad at her when i'm not, so i need positive training help. things like " come, sit, stay, shake" not chewing on trash or the furniture, leash training, crate training, etc... i bought a book, that didn't seem to help much, it wasn't very personal, so if anyone wants to let me know any of their secrets, that would be amazing, thanks everyone < 3 < 3 < 3
PUPPY TRAINING! URGENT! CAN ANYONE HELP?
Hi i really need tips on dog training. My puppy is about 5 months old and we have taught her sit, down, paw and roll over. She is getting the basic commands fine but its the behavior she needs to improve. She sleeps in a crate during the night but when we put her there during the day, she cries for hours. We only put her in there when nobody can keep an eye on her. When she isn't in the crate, she has the run of the family room. She barks at the gate in there too. She just can't stand being alone. We have also tried putting her on a 20 ft run but she cries on that too. Also, she nips and bites a lot. I cant take her near young kids out in public because i fear she will bite one of them. She enjoys biting fingers, hands and faces. We have tried many types of toys and chew things to keep her occupied but nothing seems to work. Those are the major problems. Crying and biting. We are thinking of giving her away because of these. I know it doesn't seem bad but she can cry from 6 am to 11 am until someone finally goes crazy enough to get her. It's very annoying. So other dog lovers, please help shape up my dog i could love to keep her but her behavior is really bad. We know some families who want a dog and are very loving so if worse comes to worse, they can take the dog. PLEASE HELP AND THANKS
Am i doing okay with my maltese puppy (training and taking care of)?
she is almost 12 weeks old. so far ive only had her for a little while. i feed her in the morning 1 2 cup of wellness puppy dry food , then for lunch i feed her the same, for dinner i feed her 1 2 cup wellness dry puppy food and a bit of wellness canned puppy food . i am trying to train her to not go poop or pee in the house. we have a second nature dog litter in the kitchen by her food. every time she eats we put her in there.. she has pooped a few times in there on her own. we purposely got her in the summer so we have the entire summer to spend with her and train her... i take her outside on walks a few times a day, and she plays in the backyard a lot. she poops outside anywhere. every time she poops in the litter we give her a treat. we dont scold when she poops on the carpet or floor. we only bought a litter because were we live the winters are long and bad and she cant go outside all the time to poop so she can poop there in the winter all the time.am i doing ok? im really trying hard.. i love her so much, this is my first dog and i really want to know that everything is top notch for her. i did a lot of research before i got her... but im still no expert. please no mean comments. thanks.
