Puppy Training

Question: Im interested in puppy training classes to help my pup and i. any suggestions or reviews of classes?

Please if you had your puppy in a class or training program that helped you and your puppy let me know....my puppy is only 7 weeks old and soon hope to enroll him in a class....well after he is 10 weeks old right???? Please in- lighten me......

I have 2 dogs and they have both done the PetSmart puppy training classes and both did great in the classes. There are more than 1 reason to do the training classes. Besides training your dog, they get socialized! The KEY is to work with them inbetween classes. You go to class once a week but you need to work with them more than that. In the PetSmart class, they teach them Sit, Stay, Lay, LIVE IT! Come, and how to properly walk on a leash. They teach more but I don't remember it all. They can also give you tips on other pet behavior they may be having, like jumping on you. Also, you get to talk to other people going through the same thing you are! You can share advice with everyone! As far as the puppies age, as long as it is up to date on all it's shots, you are fine!

I do not know where you live, but if you call your breeder they should be able to direct you to a good trainer. I would not reccomend the petco (petsmart?) puppy classes. They did not do much for my puppy.

We had really good results with PetSmart's classes. All positive reinforcement. If your puppy is more challenging you may need a more breed specific training environment.
