I need some help with potting training a puppy.?
I am getting a puppy soon, and have always heard to do the crate training. The only problem for me is this, I am gone from home, when I work around 14 hours a day, for I work 12 hour shifts. Idon't want to have to leave her in a crate that long. I have a small bathroom, and thought of just leaving her in there, but am planning on putting up a fence with a doggie door as she gets older, I really want to learn her to go outside, and I am home usually 4 days a week and can work with her. Any suggestions as what to do about the crate training. I plan to take her out at night, for I want to learn her to sleep, with me. So what would be the best plan for me. Because I want to take good care of her, for I love animals.

Potty training a puppy...problems! help!?
I have a german shepherd border collie mix and she is almost 5 months old. We have had her since she was 8 weeks old and she doesn't seem to get the whole potty training idea. If she does something bad and we try to get on t o her she just pees everywhere. My husband can't even pet her without her peeing. Does anyone have any tips or ideas to help?We used to leave her tied up inside the house and she would cry when she needed to go out. But she has gotten too big to tie up so we have to let her run around the house but she wont bark when she needs to go out. I try to take her out at least once every 45 minutes but sometimes she goes before then. I have thought about getting a bell to put by the door for her to ring. Has anyone done that and it work?
Would you recommend crate training a puppy?
i just got a 9 10 week old puppy and i'm just wondering if i should crate train him and what the benefits are? as of right now he doesn't like his crate and cries as soon as the door shuts. i've put his food and treats in there along with his bed to help him get used to it, but it doesn't seem to be helping.he's a boxer lab mix if that makes a difference.

I need help house training a puppy!!!?
I have a German Shepherd. She's 10 weeks old, I've had her for 3 weeks, and she's just not getting it. I know she's young, but I haven't seen any improvement whatsoever. For example, this morning, at 5 30am, I let her outside she spends the night in her kennel and she was out there for about 15 minutes while I got her food and water ready. Let her inside, walked into " her room" which is the spare room in my house, and knelt down to show her her food and she squated right next to me and started peeing I've tried the treats when she goes outside and does her business, but she doesn't care for them. She'll gently take one, walk into the kitchen and drop it, then walk away. Any advice from someone who knows about this stuff? I haven't had a dog since I was little and am unsure of the proper or best way to do this.
Should I crate train a puppy that will eventually live outside?
My husband and I have just found a border collie x blue heeler puppy and she will be ready to pick up in a couple of weeks. We have chosen this breed as they are fairly energetic and will be able to keep up with our two year old Siberian Husky.Jasper husky spends time inside however he sleeps outside. I know that I have to keep the two of them seperated for the majority of the time so the pup will bond with us and not see Jasper as its " master" .I was thinking crate training is the best option however seeing the pup will eventually move to sleeping outside do you think this is the best option?
Advice please! I am trying to house train a puppy who was paper trained to go to the toilet in a particular?
place in the garden. I am taking her outside every hour, plus about 15Min's after eating, plus whenever she starts sniffing and circling and I shout 'Ahh No' to stop her if I see she is attempting to go inside... so as you can see I pretty much spend most of my day outside And yet she is still refraining from going to the loo outside in the spot and waits until my back is momentarily turned to go inside and not even on the paper by the back door now ... I adore her but my patience is running thin and I do not want to get angry or upset with her as I know it will not help. Am I doing something wrong? Am I confusing her somehow? Why would she not want to go outside when I take her to the spot? Any advice will be gratefully received.
How do you potty train a puppy?
I have a backyard, and my schedule isn't consistent, but daily I'm gone about 4 6 hours. When I'm gone I would just put it out, but we have a pond that my dogs have fallen into. I don't want it to learn to pee on newspaper anytime. How do I begin with training a brand new puppy?
How do I train a puppy to pee OUTSIDE?
Alright, I'll try and keep this short but I love Maddie to death. And we've put her through hell. But the damn dog just won't pee outside. When we're gone, we leave her our roommate's dog in the backyard. Then I get home from school, play with them, and let them out every stinkin' hour. Afterall, that's what the book said to do When she gets inside she'll go to the corner of our kitchen and F ing poop and pee there Or she'll go in the rooms of the house. Normally I just shove her nose in it, spank her, and clean it up. But my room STINKS. She was born September 4, 2009. I'm sick of finding out her age so I just know she's older than four months. My father thinks it's too late to housebreak her. There's gotta be a way. Not to mention she's constantly biting people and chasing them down if they're moving and jumping. And getting between my legs when I run. She made me trip and I twisted my ankle... She almost hurt this runner because she bit him and jumped on him. What do I DO? ? Please, your help is dearly accepted...
How do you train a puppy to like getting dressed?

How do you train a puppy when it is primarily your child's puppy?
My husband brought home a 3 month old puppy almost 2 weeks ago. I'm with the puppy most of each weekday, and have been consistent with using the crate, saying no, rewards, etc. The thing is she is my 7 year old's puppy. They go off and play and spend a lot of time together. I don't want to intrude, but it dawned on me that she may be confusing the pup with training. While she does a good job walking her and cleaning up poo, I don't think she says " no" firmly enough and may confuse her by playing with her when she should be discouraging certain behaviors.Am I onto something, or should I just let the two girls be? Advice? Thanks.
How do I litter train a puppy?
I want the dog to be able to poop and pee in a litter tray when we are at work and when we come home we wouldn't mind if the dog does it's buisness in the tray or outside. We would clean up the buisness every day. Is there any other ways to potty train a dog? We can't be at home on weekdays for up to 8 hours but are at home all weekends. Thanks
Is it a good idea to crate train a puppy of 10 weeks?
I just recently adopted a 10 week old puppy, and she is very well behaved. It only took me one night to paper train her.I also have a 7 year old dog at home. When i brought the puppy home she had kennel cough so the adoption agency suggested keeping them seperate until the cough resolves. My question is,Is it ok to have the puppy sleep in a crate by herself? in other words on another floor i have done this for 1 night and the puppy took to it just fine, she put up a little fuss, 10 mins at max, then slept through the entire night My only concern is that the puppy starts to feel abandoned or unwanted by being kept away , even for a short period of time,am i overstaing the issuse or do i have a legitimate concern? Thanks for any help guys
