Working full time and potty training a puppy?
I work 8am to 5pm mon fri. I have a 8 week old german shepherd puppy and i am craite training him. I wake up at 5am and take him out for a walk. I feed him at 5 30am and play with him while i am getting dressed. I take him out before i leave at 7 30am. I take a lunch at 11 00am and i am home take him out at 11 30am. I get home in the evening at 6pm. I feed him at 7pm and he plays around the living room and at 8pm i take him for another short walk and give him water and take him out for his last potty break and he's in his crate at 10pm.Can he hold it the rest of the afternoon? Is this schedule ok for a puppy? I need advice...i left him this morning and he wouldn't poop. How long can he hold it????also, it's been 4 nights and he still whines and barks all night...i had a lab puppy and she never whined or barked like this...she was very playful and he isn't at all..my lab could hold it for hours. she was the same age.yes, he starts Triple Crowns obedience training this Monday.
Tips on potty training a puppy?
I have had my puppy for a little more than a month now. She is about 13 weeks old. I know it takes a lot of time for dogs to be potty trained, but I just want to know some better tips. And I am also thinking about signing her up for puppy preschool, I hear that the trainers can help with potty training. So and tips or suggestions? Thanks

Toilet training a puppy in a flat?
I live in a top floor flat and I am thinking about getting a puppy please note that I do not have a garden, but I work at the stables, so the dog will not be left alone for long periods during the day as it will be with me in the field. Has anybody else toilet trained a puppy without having immediate access to a garden? I have a court yard that I can take it into, but it's not quite the same as opening the door quickly when it needs to " go" My other option would be to have an older dog that is already trained, but it would be nice to have a puppy to teach it how to behave around horses. Any advice would be much appreciated, and any tips welcome as well.Thank you in advancePlease also note that I own the flat, it is not rented

my puppy is almost 6 months old and still can grasp that he need to go to the bathroom outside. he sometimes does but others just walks away and goes. any tips?

the mom abandon these puppys so dont yell at me..... anyways they are 5 1 2 weeks old they are playful, healthy, beautiful, and outgoing there are 2 of the puppys that i managed to take and they both way about1 to 2 pounds. they are a boxweiler a boxer and a rottweiler mix so when do u start training them? i already have a trainer i just havent had the chance to talk to her. so please help and thank you D

Couple of questions about crate training a puppy?
hi,i have a 7 week old puppy and i have decided to crate train him, its all going quite well and he does not soil the crate and waits for me to take him outside. I also get him to sleep in the crate and get up a few times a night to take him to the toilet etc, as well as this if i need to go out somewhere for a little while he goes in the crate as well. Anyway what i wanted to ask was, i was told not to take him out of the crate if he is crying as this reinforces that behaviour so how long do i wait for him to be calm? I put him in there about 10 minutes ago and he has cried constantly so do i just leave him until he has stopped completely or just wait for a break in the crying? I am trying to start good habits early so that i dont re enforce bad behaviour but its so hard to listen to him cry and i only needed him to be in there for 10 minutes but as i am waiting for him to calm its ending up alot longer will he calm more quickly as time goes on? am i doing the right thing?
How to train a puppy to bark when a stranger comes to the house?
I know people say you want your dog to be socialized and blah blah blah but we've been stolen from a few times and we're getting a six week old rottweiler german shepherd soon. how can i train him to bark at strangers? i've been told they don't bark until they're older, but just so i know? thanks. I'm not trying to make him scare the person away, although that would be good. I just want him to let us know.
What is the normal length that it take to potty train a puppy black lab?
i have a 13 week old black lab puppy, my family andi have had him for 3 weeks and he is already almost potty trained. i just wanted to know what the average length it usually takes for them to be potty trained because i wanted to know how much longer i should wait until he can sleep in my bad without any ''accidents'', even though he will probaly he trained in a few weeks with how good he has been doing, just in case i would like to wait the average length it takes... thank you
Training a puppy to do his business outside?
I have a five month old yorkie poo puppy. He has been trained on puppy papers since he has been born. Now we are trying to train him to go outside, but it has been very difficult. he keeps having accidents in the house, and when we scold him, and lock him up in a room, he does his business out of spite because we have locked him up. I don't know what to do anymore. We have done everything we can think of. We have rubbed his nose in it, we have smacked him, brought him outside after he does it to show him that he goes outside, even locked him up but nothing works. He still uses the bathroom at night and we don't want to get up and let him out so we put down a puppy paper at night. But is this confusing him? We don't want him to get in the habit of going at night. We want him to be able to hold it during the night. we have even crated him before and he does not like it at all so we don't use it anymore. What is the best way to get him to go outside without going inside anymore? Please help me

I have had my puppy for five days and have left him for five minute intervals in a large cage in my bedroom. He cry's all the time and it does not get any better. I leave toys with him and chews. Do i say anything to calm him down when i put him in or just shut the door and walk off ? Also how do i act when returning ?
